Services are based on an hourly basic shop labor rate. All services have a 1 hour minimum on each job. $50 hr.

PROFESSIONAL CARBURETOR RESTORATION:

Complete motorcycle carburetor diagnostic disassembly. Ultrasonic cleaning of all carburetor parts and bodies. Polishing of all carburetor brass parts to like new. Carburetor aluminum parts will either be left alone and cleaned or polished with brushes to etch corrosion as needed and blended for a non original finish as needed. The finished result of the carburetor bodies are professionally done but are not the original casting finish. Each carburetor part is inspected for wear. Carburetor restoration service comes guaranteed against defective workmanship, and oversight of complete carburetor repair. (See list below for more details.) Carburetor restoration and repair does not warranty against problems other than the carbs themselves, but we will offer tech support after the carburetor restoration service to find those other problems.

Full motorcycle carburetor restoration service includes:

  • A guaranteed carburetor solution. Includes tech support after carburetor installation by phone or email. Guaranteed against defects in workmanship.

  • All new carburetor orings installed throughout.

  • Butterfly shaft seal replacement (common cause of vacuum leaks, or sticky throttle response).

  • Decorroding of all carburetor surfaces to bring your carbs back to a professional finish.

  • All new float bowl, rack mounting, and cover screws in the appropriate type and color as new at no additional charge.

Additional services available:

  • The following are items you may further need serviced/repaired/replaced.
    • Worn Mikuni carburetor molded rubber fuel tees and pipes. (These fuel tees often crack, loose dimensional stability etc and need replacement to keep from leaking).
    • Deteriorated throttle slide diaphragm. View here.
    • Failed carburetor floats. (High failure rate on 81-87 Yamaha XV700-1100, and brass float equiped carbs.)
    • Broken carburetor pilot screws removal. Sometimes pilot screws can be over tightened and the tips get pressed into the bodies. When this happens we have to drill out the pressed in tip using a special drill bushing.
    • Worn carburetor needle jets, & jet needles.
    • Broken or frozen bolt repair.
    • Jets plugged solid that cannot be cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner will need to be replaced

Some Dellorto carburetors are yellow zinc plated. Replating may be necessary and require addition fees. (Zinc plating is available in clear (silver), yellow, or black and is charged by the color per job, so send all your parts to be plated together).

On rare occasions it is neccesary to to do chrome plating either for customization or to repair pitiful rusted components. If this is the case we have a chromer we use that provides excellent results.

Chrome, can not be quoted till the parts are sent to the chromer. However they are usually expensive.
